Enchanting Himachal
16 NIGHTS / 17 DAYS
Day 1: Delhi
The capital is a busy place with hidden treasures, explore the Old Delhi sites & bazaars; Jama Masjid, follow your nose to the spice market and ravel your senses with colours and flavours of India.
Day 2-3: Shimla
We depart early to the summer residence of the Raj era, Shimla, to catch our nostalgic toy train which snakes its way past scenic hills of the Himalayas. We will be exploring the Colonial architecture and enjoying the views across the valley.
Day 4: Mandi
We arrive at the Old capital. The colour and smells of the market are rich in heritage. Many a temples lay for us to visit. We also will be visiting the Rewalsar Lake.
Day 5-7: Dharamshala
We head to visit the new home of the Tibetan people and recluse of his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. We have plenty of time to explore and learn the ways of the Tibetan culture. Take cooking classes or get a relaxing massage or take beautiful walks with stupendous views of the Dhaulagiri Range.
Day 8: Dalhousie
A sprawling Raj era hill station at 2000 meters with stupendous views and the colourful Tibetan settlement is our base for the hike to Chamba via Khajjiaar.
Day 9: Khajjiaar
Our beautiful days hike through Evergreen alpine forest takes us to India’s very own “Mini Switzerland”. A lush meadow amidst pine forest is our home for tonight.
Day 10- 12: Chamba Homestay
Today’s hike brings us to experience the Himachal hospitality, culture and cuisine at its best. We explore and marvel the ancient temples of Chamba. Visit untouched Himachal villages and escape to the surreal, as we breathe the fresh mountain air.
Day 13- 14: Amritsar
A quick train journey to the lowlands brings us to the serene Golden temple and to witness the fanatical border closing ceremony at the Wagah Border.
Day 15- 16: Rishikesh
An overnight train journey takes us to the heartland of the sacred River Ganga. The spiritual & metaphysical life along the Ghats is an experience to behold. Indulge in yoga, Reiki etc. and relax along the holy river.
Day 16: Delhi (Departure Day)
