Day 1: Day 1- 2: Hyderabad (Start day)
The group meeting is held in the afternoon where you will receive a briefing. Explore the IT city famed for its historic monuments, Charminar and the Golcunda fort, and bazaars. The Laadbazaar famed for its bangles and jewellery, pearl, is definitely worth a visit in the evenings
Day 3- 4: Mamallapuram
The shore temples, Arjunas Penance, Panch Rathas, are not only fascinating structures and stalwarts of South Indian art; they have stood the forces of nature and time. This little beach side town on the Coromandel Coast is not far from the Billboard capital of India, Chennai.
Day 5: Thanjavur
The Cultural capital, 1790AD, of the Chola Dynasty, famed for its magnificent paintings is still a flourishing art. The magnanimous Brahadeeshwara Temple, a granite structure, known as the Big Temple is architecture at its best.
Day 6: Madurai
A civilization more than 2500years old is a great example of South Indian art & culture. The fragrance of the famed Madurai Jasmine flowers and the beautiful Madurai Meenakshi Kovil (Temple) will captivate your senses.
Day 7-8: Periyar
Take a boat trip, trek and watch Wild elephants cool of the tropical climate by bathing in the Periyar lake. Walk with Forest Rangers and enjoy the flora and Fauna of the National Park.
Day 9: Backwaters (home stay)
Private motor boat down the backwaters as we weave through canals lined with Palm trees and simple Keralan home. We spend the night at a family run guest house and get a complete insight into the life and culture of the people living in the backwaters of Kerala.
Day 10- 11: Kochi(140 kms)
Influenced historically by many Empires, Arabs, Chinese, Portuguese and Dutch is the gateway to “Gods own Country”. Exploring, Old Fort area, The Jewish Settlement till a great place for spice trade, pondering over the Chinese fishing nets, is a fascinating way to spend your day.
Day 12- 13: Masinagudi
Nestled in the lap of the Nilgiri Hills (Blue Mountain) we explore nature trails in the green and wildlife corridor at Masinagudi. We stay at a family run resort, in dormitory style accommodation, and get to sight some rare & endangered wildlife of India.
Day 14: Mysore
Beautiful Mysore Palace rich with very ornate decor and graceful paintings is an insight into the lavish lifestyle of the Kings. Nearby Somnathpur Temple is a splendid architecture. The fragrance of the finest Sandalwood will truly tantalize your senses.
Day 15- 16: Chikmagalur
Coffee in India was grown here first. We explore the stunning and highly decorated temples of Bellur & Halebidu which are master pieces of Hoysala architecture. We get to visit coffee plantations and enjoy a very homely atmosphere.
Day 17- 19: Hampi
The ruins of the great Vijayanagara Kingdom is nestled amongst stunning natural boulder formation. Great place to bicycle and explore the ruins. Climb atop boulder hills from where paddy fields, palm trees and banana plantations lay strewn amidst natural landscape.
Day 20- 21: Goa
Sun, Sand and sea food paradise of India is a great way to relax and relish the Southern Journey through India.
Day 22: Departure Day
End of journey
