Oasis trail of the Pharaohs
16NIGHTS / 17 DAYS
Day 1-2: CAIRO
Explore the ancient wonder of the world at the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Dwell deep into the history of the Pharaohs at the Egyptian Museum. Take time to marvel at the beautiful mosques in the “City of Thousand Minarets” as you wander around the ancient Souk (bazaar).
Day 3-4: ASWAN
The Nubian villages around Aswan give the city and Egypt its strong African link. Explore the islands of Elephantine and the beautiful Philae Temple. An early morning visit to the architectural splendour at Abu Simbel is simply a must.
Day 5: FELUCCA DOWN THE NILE (SAIL BOAT)
Relax and enjoy the journey as we get an amazing opportunity to sail down the River Nile on a felucca (Sail boat) and spend overnight on deck of the felucca to open starry sky. Our Nubian crew will make this journey of yours memorable.
Day 6-7: LUXOR
The site for the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, Luxor is any history buffs delight. The amazing West Bank Necropolis; the Valley of Kings, the Valley of the Queens is an insight into the lives of the Pharaohs. The Stunning and marvellous Karnack Temple is an architectural wonder.
Day 8: DAKHLA OASIS
The ancient beautiful oasis is a great insight into a true oasis lifestyle. The ancient village of Al- Qasr is a magical spot and almost feels like movie set from Lawrence of Arabia
Day 9: WHITE DESSERT (FARAFRA OASIS)
The stunning moon like landscape with unique rock formation is a truly a beautiful spot. As the sunsets amidst the fascinating landscape we set up our Bedouin style camp and watch as the wondrous sky comes alive with dazzling stars.
Day 10- 11: BAHARIYA OASIS
As we cross the Western Dessert uncover the history of the Roman Rulers. Explore the golden mummies and soak into the mineral rich hot springs.
Day 12- 13: SIWA OASIS
A true Oasis with rich vegetation and lush palm trees, this beautiful Oasis is a great place to explore the amazing sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea. The rustic village, with donkey carts, is home to the Temple of the Oracle.
Day 14-15: ALEXANDRIA
A port on the Mediterranean Sea, Uncover the history in the underground catacombs at Kom Ash-Shuqqafa. Explore the ancient Roman Burial site and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, home to over eight million books.
Day 16: CAIRO
We head back to the capital and the hustle and bustle of Cairo nothing planned for today; you have time to explore the Souk Khan El Khalili and pick up souvenirs to remind you of your journey through this fascination country and its people.
Day 17: DEPARTURE DAY
